I am finally getting out of the hellhole that is my current job!! YAY!! I couldn’t stand it any longer so I finally gave my notice a few days ago and I’ve already got another job opportunity. I’m a very happy girl! Tonight I am going to the work Christmas party since I’ve already paid for the meal and then I’m thinking that I’ll just end things after that. I’m supposed to be working another week but the new job is looking for an immediate start and I really just want to be finished. Is that really horrible of me?
I got paid yesterday so today I’m paying bills and doing some Christmas shopping to get it all out of the way. I figure I might as well do it now while the money is there and I have a bit of happiness motivation
I’ll have more time off now so you should expect to see me kicking around more often which I am excited about.
The importance of a good rest :) November 7, 2007

Sometimes it all just gets to be a little too much. That’s how I’ve been feeling lately so L33tz0r whisked me away for a few days for a little fun and relaxation and boy has it paid off!! I’ve just been hating work, hating the house we live in and who we’re living there with, hating our poor financial state, etc and it was all starting to boil. This little vacation could not have come at a better time really!
We stayed with L33tz0r’s family who own a great little pub so of course we spent lots of time there and yesterday we had a really fun time going bowling and having a nice Mexican meal at a place called Chiquitos. Sooooooo good!! We’re heading back home today but it was nice to have this break before I had a nervous breakdown!! Now we’re actually looking into coming back here after Christmas to stay permanently because we would make more money and have to pay far less living costs so it would probably be a good idea since we’re trying to save up some money so we have some sort of deposit or down payment when we move to Canada.
So this explains why I have been an absent little blogger lately … my head was going to explode!! Looks like I’m back now which I am very happy about ![]()

I’ve got a job interview tomorrow for an actual big girl job!! Yikes!! I’m quite nervous and am not entirely sure what to expect so I’ve gone out and bought myself a nice new purple interview blouse and some nice new black interview shoes. I want to look professional, yet young and stylish. I thought the purple would be a good choice because if all of the other candidates are wearing black or white then I am likely to stand out.
Anyway wish me luck!! And if you really want to show me some support, please click the button on the sidebar to vote for me in the fuelmyblog contest!!

True to GirlieGeek form, L33tz0r and I have purchased a Playstation 3. Mind you, the decision to buy this ridiculously expensive console was not really thought out because it has since left us very very poor!! Oh well, at least we have something to do since we can’t go out anywhere that requires money. My days off have been spent doing laundry and playing Final Fantasy XII (very very awesome by the way). I only get 2 days off a week so I like to spend them doing as little as possible with slim to no productivity haha!
Since my arrival in England I haven’t had a mobile phone so I am currently shopping around for one of those. And when I say “shopping around” I actually mean just looking because I don’t get paid until the 31st of August so until then I can’t actually buy anything at all. I’m not looking for anything particularly fancy, but a few extra features might be nice. Oh and I want it to look pretty too
I have a new obsession which involves spending countless hours searching eBay for things that I want even though I can’t get anything just yet. I am also thinking of going through some of my things to see what I can part with. If I don’t use it I might as well get some money for it.
I am also still on the hunt for a domain host. I had been accepted for PayPerPost ages ago but due to WordPress terms and conditions I am unable to do paid posts here. Don’t worry though, I do not intend to sell out. Just a paid post here and there is my plan. We’ll see how that goes anyway. I started another blog some time ago solely for money making purposes but it’s been a long time since I’ve even looked at it so I’m not sure if there has even been any activity on it. We’ll see ![]()
GirlieGeek Fundraiser June 25, 2007

I’m not usually one for asking for money … so that’s why I really don’t want to do that now. However I am going to invite you to head on over to my “blogging for cash” blog to give me a little boost. Money is tight and I desperately need to get back to England ASAP so I’m trying to be a little creative in how I’m going to raise this money so I can patch things up a little.
So right now I’m asking for: (a) a cash donation of $1 million, (b) some traffic over to my other site in hopes someone will see something they like and sign up, (c) your ideas, suggestions, and advice on how I can make the most money in a few weeks time. And yes I am looking for a job haha!!
Now get on over to my blog … GirlieGeek 4 Cash … go on git!!
I’m a slacker!! May 13, 2007

Ok so I said I’d be back and active but I have been slacking yet again!! Work has been quite hectic this past week since the manager took her vacation so it meant lots of shifts for me!! I won’t be complaining when the cheque goes in the back though!! Anyway … all is well with me and I just worked my last shift yesterday because I will be going back to Canada for the summer at the end of this month. My manager has already arranged for me to come back to work once I’m back in the UK which is such a weight off my mind to know I’ve got a job waiting when I get back.
L33tz0r and I will be going to spend some time at his family’s place for his little sister’s birthday on May 19th and my birthday on the 20th
Should be a really nice, relaxing time before I have to go home.
I’ve been quite the busy little bunny lately playing WoW and leveling up my shaman. I just dinged 69 today and will hopefully get to 70 within the next day or so. And it just occurred to me today that I really should have already started saving for my flying mount and only have 350 gold. I did have enough on my bank character (cleverly named Bankeroo … hey I liked it) but that was until I decided to level my jewelcrafting. Now I am down to a pitiful 149 gold on that character. I refuse to buy gold because I consider it to be cheating in a way so it’ll be some long hours grinding for me!! Either that of selling all of the stuff on my other characters!!
Speaking of WoW … on the realm Doomhammer we had this guy who was always LFG king since he never logged off (had some AFK mod or something I dunno). Anyway, he has recently stopped playing WoW and it’s like the sky has fallen or something!! Everyone on the server knows who he is because he was always the LFG moderator and regularly kicked people from the channel who were annoying everyone so I did like him for that. However I’m not really all that fussed that he’s decided to enjoy his real life. Someone in my guild said he nearly cried (exaggerating I would hope) when he read this guy’s post saying he was leaving. Does anyone else have a similar type person on their servers? And do they have thousands of little minions and fans? I just thought it was really funny that there are even celebrities in WoW.
That’s enough of my pointless thoughts for today haha!! Back to leveling … and grinding for gold I suppose!

Think I must have fallen off the face of the earth? Well I didn’t really … I just started a job so I have been a little busy over the last few weeks. Sorry for the neglect! Hopefully now that things have settled down a little I can get back to blogging. I haven’t even been working on my money making site at all!! Geeze!!
So anyway, expect me to be posting more often again and I’ll have a Monday Melee post coming right up ![]()

The past few days have been wonderful for me! There has been a large increase in traffic coming to this blog which I am surprised and impressed with and I hope it will be able to continue growing. I registered for Digg and that has been where most of my viewers have been coming from so I highly recommend using it yourself.
I’ve also begun a new blog in the hopes of making a little cash. Since this blog is more of a personal and fun blog for me I try to keep ads off of it as much as possible. My new blog, on the other hand, is full of them in the hopes that I will be able to make some cash with affiliate programs, reviews and the like. I am even thinking of starting a 3rd blog dedicated to making money online because alot of the profitable blogs that I have seen recently have that general sort of theme.
To view my new blog and help me out a little please click here girliegeek reviews … and feedback, tips, directions you could give me would be much appreciated as I’d like my chances for success to be as great as possible. Thanks
And lastly … I have mentioned on Monday that I would be having a job interview today and I am happy to report that I got the job ![]()

As I was sifting through various blogs today I came across this lovely gem and I am quite surprised I hadn’t seen it sooner. The newest addition to my Blogroll is
Ms. Latina Renee Enterprise, LLC
I have such a strong desire to try my hand at using the internet and blogging to my advantage. There are so many opportunities these days to do just that and this new find of mine must list a fair percentage of them. I intend to spend the rest of the day studying this blog and trying alot of these things out for myself. I’ve already read through quite a bit and I have a few questions that someone might be able to answer.
1. Should I start a new blog that would be devoted to making money online? This blog would continue to be my more personal outlet … whereas the new blog would be created for profit.
2. How long does it take for a payout?
3. How much would I expect this first payout to be?
4. Should I consider this to be a part time job of sorts? I would expect that I will be spending a significant amount of time with the initial set up of the blog itself and all affiliate accounts. But I am also assuming that regular posting (on the blog iteself and in other areas), and maintenance in general would also be semi time consuming. This is not something I am worried a great deal about because blogging is something I enjoy.
That’s all I can think of off the top of my head … I’m sure that more will come up however this will get the ball rolling for me. Gotta run … I’ve got alot of reading to do!
Speed Dating: Who and Why? February 23, 2007
Posted by girliegeek in Life, Love, Work.4 comments
I have recently begun employment with a company called Xfactordates and I had my very first shift a few nights ago. To be honest I had no idea what to expect. Basically speed dating involved having 20 dates of 3 minutes each. Each person has a scorecard which is used to write each dates’ name and mark Yes, No, Friend and a comment about the person. After the event each person takes their scorecard home and enters the details onto our website using the username and password they had already set up. The site will then make the Yes or Friend matches and will email the participants with the contact details of any matches. My job title is “Ice breaker” so basically I greet people as they come in and make small talk with anyone standing alone to make sure that everyone is comfortable and not too nervous. I wasn’t nervous seeing as I wasn’t one of the people who would actually be participating but I think I was more curious than anything. I wasn’t sure what type of people would show up.
My boss told me the key demographic for the evening would be professionals between the ages of 25 and 35. Ok, so there weren’t going to be any vagabonds looking for a home via love but would they be social failures who aren’t able to meet people through work or friends? Would they be geeks whom no one would give a chance if they didn’t have to sit down and talk to them for 3 minutes? That might sound harsh but I had never been exposed to an event such as this before so I really had no idea. Much to my surprise as our participants began to arrive they all looked like normal people! There seemed to be a trend in that most of the women arrived in groups of 2 or 3 friends where as most of the men arrived alone. I’m wondering if that is because men don’t normally discuss their dating issues with their friends and tend not to rely so much on the support of other males in a situation such as this where they might feel nervous.
The people who participated were all normal looking people with normal and fun personalities but just had very little time outside of work to meet people they want to date. Many of the women I spoke to said they do enjoy going out to clubs with friends but the sort of men they meet there aren’t the type of men they would be interested in dating. One of the men told me that he wasn’t necessarily looking for a wife but he enjoys speed dating because it’s a different way to get out and socialize with people his own age and stage of life and it’s better than sitting at home alone. There were also quite a few people who where at their very first speed dating event but came with an open mind and were curious as to how it worked. I found that alot of the people weren’t desperately seeking a partner, but more of a way to socialize and make some friends.
It was even quite enjoyable for me because I was able to get out of the house and talk to interesting and fun people who I normally would not have met. I had a few free drinks, some good laughs and got paid for it! I think that’s a pretty good deal.
