I’d like to wish all of the wonderful people who stop by on occasion and read what I have to say a very Happy New Year! I hope that 2008 brings you peace, happiness, luck and everything that you want it to! Although 2007 had some great things happening, there were also some not so great things. So far, 2008 seems very promising and I am looking forward to a fresh new year which I hope will bring happiness, love, learning, and big things for this blog!
As part of the New Year theme, I have decided to make some changes in the blog … which I believe are for the better!! Today I registered with a webhost and got myself a domain name which will allow me to turn a corner with GirlieGeek and expand on what I’ve already got. I am extremely grateful to WordPress for their outstanding services and support which have been a joy to use. Once all is set up with regards to my new host, I will set up the new version of WordPress which will allow me more freedom and choice but will still provide me with the things I love so much about my existing WordPress blog. Hopefully the change over won’t prove too challenging for me and all will go off without a hitch!!
So in the coming weeks you can expect to see a new and sexier looking GirlieGeek, the completion of my Karazhan boss tactics page and some more goodies thrown in there! Although I do plan on monetizing the blog in some way, I promise that it will not compromise the integrity of the blog but will make me work harder for my money! Up to this point, GirlieGeek has been lacking in a clear focus of sorts and while I am still unsure where it’s focus should lie, I hope to improve upon the base that I’ve made and start a whole new ballgame!!
Thank you for stopping by, reading, and commenting. I do appreciate the support and hope to return the favor! Here’s to the New Year!!

Sometimes it all just gets to be a little too much. That’s how I’ve been feeling lately so L33tz0r whisked me away for a few days for a little fun and relaxation and boy has it paid off!! I’ve just been hating work, hating the house we live in and who we’re living there with, hating our poor financial state, etc and it was all starting to boil. This little vacation could not have come at a better time really!
We stayed with L33tz0r’s family who own a great little pub so of course we spent lots of time there and yesterday we had a really fun time going bowling and having a nice Mexican meal at a place called Chiquitos. Sooooooo good!! We’re heading back home today but it was nice to have this break before I had a nervous breakdown!! Now we’re actually looking into coming back here after Christmas to stay permanently because we would make more money and have to pay far less living costs so it would probably be a good idea since we’re trying to save up some money so we have some sort of deposit or down payment when we move to Canada.
So this explains why I have been an absent little blogger lately … my head was going to explode!! Looks like I’m back now which I am very happy about ![]()

I’ve got a job interview tomorrow for an actual big girl job!! Yikes!! I’m quite nervous and am not entirely sure what to expect so I’ve gone out and bought myself a nice new purple interview blouse and some nice new black interview shoes. I want to look professional, yet young and stylish. I thought the purple would be a good choice because if all of the other candidates are wearing black or white then I am likely to stand out.
Anyway wish me luck!! And if you really want to show me some support, please click the button on the sidebar to vote for me in the fuelmyblog contest!!

The up side to having trouble sleeping is that I get to watch alot of tv haha!! Lately it’s just been all of the random reality shows about those poor rich kids living in the southern states but tonight I was channel surfing and came across Larry King who had Tammy Faye on his show (I think it was a repeat from the other night). My goodness if it hadn’t said her name right there on the screen I might not have recognized her. I knew from my daily dose of Perez that Tammy Faye has cancer and has been very ill for a long time. I think that what I found most shocking was her incredible faith and trust in God. Makes me wish that I were more faithful than I am. While I do believe in God, I do not believe so much in organized religion. Anyway, before this turns into a post about my religious views, I’ll just say that I think Tammy Faye is such an incredible person and I hope that when my time comes I will be as graceful and as brave as she is. What a wonderful woman.
In geeky news, a few days ago I merged my guild with another small guild in the hopes to keep things alive and to keep the members that I have left. Although it’s only been a few days, things seem to be looking ok which I am happy about although I wish that I could have kept things together for L33tz0r. I have such a new and great appreciation for all of the work he puts into the guild in order to keep it functioning effectively and keep everyone happy.
I will be moving back to England in less than a week’s time and I hope that once I get settled back in I’ll be in a better state of mind and I’ll be back to posting pretty much every day
I am very much looking forward to completing my Karazhan boss tactics and I have a few side blogging projects which are unrelated to this blog. I have made a 2nd money making blog using a different blog host as a sort of comparison to see where I make more money and which site gives me the best options. I’ll keep you posted ![]()

Still no Maiden tactic but I plan on doing that tonight maybe. I’m not sure if I’ve mentioned it before but while I am home for the summer I have been taking a course so that I don’t completely halt my degree. I have my first exam in it tonight … eek! Compared to many of the courses I have taken, this one is a pretty interesting one. It’s a Sociology course (even though I’m a Psychology major) called Canadian Society and is basically about the social groups that formed Canada and that make up Canada today. It’s such a nice break for me and I’m finding myself actually interested in the subject matter that I pay attention. After 4 years of just taking Psychology and English Literature courses you get kind of bored of them after a while and it’s nice to throw something different into the mix to freshen things up. Although I must admit, my experience in Psychology has allowed me to better deal with people in all aspects of my life and has made me a much more empathetic person.
Not quite sure why I’m ranting on the details of my education haha!! I think it’s just an excuse not to study
And another excuse is the Monday Melee post I haven’t posted yet. Hmmmm maybe I’ll do that now before hitting the books …

I’m feeling a little blah today so I’m being a little slow. Hopefully there will be enough people online in 30 minutes time for our guild to have a raid. In which case I will be preoccupied for a few hours but when I’m done I’m planning on writing the Moroes tactics and posting them and doing a little blog surfing and perhaps I’ll tell you a fun story if the mood strikes me hehe!
In some interesting news, I am signed up for all kinds of online paid survey places but I have never actually made enough from any of them for a payout. Well today has changed that!! I just got an email to see if I qualified for a survey which pays 50 big ones. So of course I never expected to qualify but *gasp* I did!! So I finished the survey and went to see if I could request a payment and it turns out I have referred 2 people who actually signed up earning me another $10 and I had done a survey months ago for $5 … so apparently I should expect a cheque in the mail for $65 within 4-6 weeks. I’ll keep you posted!!
Anyway, of to WoW for some Karazhan pwning fun ![]()

Thanks very much Kendall for tagging me over at Splice Here! So here we go, here are 8 things about me you probably never knew … or wanted to haha!!
1. I have been colouring my hair since I was 13 years old. I’m pretty sure it’s naturally some shade of brown but I haven’t actually seen it since 1998.
2. I have a crazy obsession with Scooby Doo. I own all episodes and movies on DVD (some still on VHS haha), over 10 Scooby stuffed animals, the whole gang in Barbie doll form, clothing, jewelery, etc. Heck even my belly button ring and ring tone are Scooby Doo!!
3. I was born in Grand Bay, New Brunswick in Canada but I have also lived in Aarhus, Denmark and Manchester, England.
4. I am 22 years old and was born on May 20th, 1985 at 2:24am.
5. I am currently in my last semester of my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in English Literature but I’d really like to do something in computers (something online like blog for a living haha) or interior design.
6. I have lots of books about Princess Diana who has been my idol since I was little. I kept a scrapbook of all the newspaper clippings and magazine articles about her before, and since her death. I’d love to marry one of her sons so if any of you can hook me up please do
7. I have 2 black and white cats named Molly and Lola.
8. I used to love acting in high school and would still do it now if I could. I was in my school’s productions of Annie Get Your Gun, The Secret Garden and my first leading role was as Beth in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.
** Bonus Fact **
9. I used to play hockey and miss it ALOT!! I was the captain of my team the last 2 years that I played.
I tag …

I’m not usually one for asking for money … so that’s why I really don’t want to do that now. However I am going to invite you to head on over to my “blogging for cash” blog to give me a little boost. Money is tight and I desperately need to get back to England ASAP so I’m trying to be a little creative in how I’m going to raise this money so I can patch things up a little.
So right now I’m asking for: (a) a cash donation of $1 million, (b) some traffic over to my other site in hopes someone will see something they like and sign up, (c) your ideas, suggestions, and advice on how I can make the most money in a few weeks time. And yes I am looking for a job haha!!
Now get on over to my blog … GirlieGeek 4 Cash … go on git!!

I’ve been back in Canada for about a week now and I am still having very mixed feelings about it. Yes, I am happy to see my family and friends, familiar places and favorite local foods. But I can’t help feeling sad at night that I am not next to L33tz0r when I never want to leave his side. I miss taking the train to work … and almost missing it every single day. And I especially miss late night walks to Spar with him.
We did the long distance thing last summer as well and it was double the amount of time that we will have to do it this summer. It was rough and at times I thought we wouldn’t make it but we did. And although we were able to hold it together, I don’t think we always did it the best way we could. I’m sure that there are many many other people out there who have faced the same hurdle. What I’m wondering is, what made things work for you?
Does anyone out there have any tips for me on how to make the summer more bearable? We play World of Warcraft together which is nice because it is something we can do “together” without actually being physically together. We talk on Skype and MSN and I even call him from time to time. These things are good but I’m looking for other options to keep things interesting and fun for us.
