New Guild :) October 14, 2007

When I first got back into WoW after a 2 month hiatus I wasn’t sure if I wanted to get back into serious raiding. With a bit of pushing from L33tz0r, I ended up applying for a new guild and I got in. I’d like to think it’s because of my skillzzz and gear but I doubt that because I heard that they really needed some healers and I am just that haha!!

I was very pleased to go on my first raid with them and find out that they are a very nice and very skilled group of players. I think that I’ll enjoy raiding with them very much and hope that I can contribute as much as I would like to. My only gripe was with a rogue who died almost at the end of the Maiden fight and then says “Wtf healers!! I didn’t even get a heal!!” …. well I’m sorry … Maybe next time I’ll heal you instead of the tank and we’ll ALL die. Annnnyway, thus is the life of a healer. If someone dies it’s probably your fault so it’s something I’ve gotten used to as being just part of the territory.

Other than that little snafu I am happy as a pig in shit to be raiding again and with such a great group of people :)

Presenting A Brand New Blogger!! September 22, 2007

I’ve been nudging and hinting for months to L33tz0r that he should write some sort of blog. He’s been plugging away at the book he’s been writing and I think that he’s got enough creativity in him to spit out a little blog on the side too :D He has a lot of knowledge about tanking in World of Warcraft and a love for it that I don’t think is healthy or in any way sane.

So I’m pleased (and proud) to announce the birth of a new blog by none other than my L33tz0r!! Please hop on over to Bobrek’s Tank Spot and have a look at what he’s done so far. Keep in mind that this is a work in progress and he’s still got some planning and work to do on it.

If you have any tanking tips, tanking questions you’d like answered or any ideas for him to include in his blog, please feel free to leave him a comment because I know he’d love some feedback.

I quit rehab …. September 16, 2007

Following in the footsteps of Britney, Lindsay and all the other stars of the day, I have to tell you that I am back on the WoW. I tried to quit. I really did. Well I did quit … for 2 months anyway. During those 2 months I tried to find something to fill the void that WoW had left but *sigh* there wasn’t anything that I found that I could say I liked better or was willing to pay for.

L33tz0r and I started over on a new server with new characters (since he foolishly deleted all of his characters in a moment of rage) so that we could have a fresh start. This time we’re trying out a PvP server on the horde side to see how we like it. It’s not a race to 70 this time though … we’re taking our time and just playing for fun. Which is nice actually. I think that I had forgotten how to enjoy the game. We’re in a new social/leveling guild … the people are nice and we just chat away while questing. The server that we’re on is a new one. Benefits include: not over populated, lower latencies, things are still well priced at the Auction House, lots of other people still leveling as well … and the list goes on!

I’m off work today so you’d better believe that I’ll be playing for most of the day hahaha!! Haven’t decided what my main will be but I’m leveling a priest, a mage and a hunter to level 20 and then decide which one I’d prefer to play for the long haul. It’s hunter day today ^^

Still Alive!! September 9, 2007

Don’t worry!! I’m still alive and I haven’t forgotten about you!! I’ve been quite busy lately working all the time that I’ve hardly been on the computer at all … which is SO unlike me!! Now that I’ve gotten used to working every day of my life I am slowly finding the energy to get back to my blogging and blog surfing. Oh how I’ve missed it!!

I have a new blog on the go about Neopets. Well really it’s a sort of Neo help site but it’s been a good way for me to get back into the swing of blogging again by giving me something to write about. Since I left WoW I haven’t really had much to say *gasp*!

I’ve been trying to fill the gap in my life left by WoW with another game but to be completely honest, nothing really compares. I am currently on Day 2 of my free 14 day trial of Ultima Online and I am not really all that impressed by it. I HATE the camera angle and frequently try to scroll my mouse to change the view but alas, no luck. The game is over 10 years old so in that respect, it’s not horrible. I do like the ideas and everything behind it and as the original MMORPG, it really has alot of potential to drag me in if I can get past the things I don’t like. However, once my 14 day trial is up I really don’t think it would be worth my money to pay for it. Not with the current issues I have with it.

L33tz0r and I have both signed up for the Beta of Warhammer Online. It’s highly doubtful that we’ll both get it (or even one of us for that matter) but hey, might as well try. The release date isn’t until January and last night we were watching some of the videos for it on YouTube and discussing how much money we need to make by then to both have sparkly, new gaming PC’s. I am kind of partial to my laptop though, so I was thinking of a gaming laptop but L33tz0r explained that since there’s not alot of room for a cooling system you would never be able to have as powerful a system as you could with a desktop so there goes that idea. Another problem is that we’ll be moving to Canada next summer so that would be 2 PC’s we’d have to get over the ocean somehow. *Sigh*

Does anyone have any other good MMO’s they really like that they could recommend? I’d love to have a look at some others!

True to GirlieGeek form, L33tz0r and I have purchased a Playstation 3. Mind you, the decision to buy this ridiculously expensive console was not really thought out because it has since left us very very poor!! Oh well, at least we have something to do since we can’t go out anywhere that requires money. My days off have been spent doing laundry and playing Final Fantasy XII (very very awesome by the way). I only get 2 days off a week so I like to spend them doing as little as possible with slim to no productivity haha!

Since my arrival in England I haven’t had a mobile phone so I am currently shopping around for one of those. And when I say “shopping around” I actually mean just looking because I don’t get paid until the 31st of August so until then I can’t actually buy anything at all. I’m not looking for anything particularly fancy, but a few extra features might be nice. Oh and I want it to look pretty too :) I have a new obsession which involves spending countless hours searching eBay for things that I want even though I can’t get anything just yet. I am also thinking of going through some of my things to see what I can part with. If I don’t use it I might as well get some money for it.

I am also still on the hunt for a domain host. I had been accepted for PayPerPost  ages ago but due to WordPress terms and conditions I am unable to do paid posts here. Don’t worry though, I do not intend to sell out. Just a paid post here and there is my plan. We’ll see how that goes anyway. I started another blog some time ago solely for money making purposes but it’s been a long time since I’ve even looked at it so I’m not sure if there has even been any activity on it. We’ll see :)

Late night thoughts July 20, 2007

The up side to having trouble sleeping is that I get to watch alot of tv haha!! Lately it’s just been all of the random reality shows about those poor rich kids living in the southern states but tonight I was channel surfing and came across Larry King who had Tammy Faye on his show (I think it was a repeat from the other night). My goodness if it hadn’t said her name right there on the screen I might not have recognized her. I knew from my daily dose of Perez that Tammy Faye has cancer and has been very ill for a long time. I think that what I found most shocking was her incredible faith and trust in God. Makes me wish that I were more faithful than I am. While I do believe in God, I do not believe so much in organized religion. Anyway, before this turns into a post about my religious views, I’ll just say that I think Tammy Faye is such an incredible person and I hope that when my time comes I will be as graceful and as brave as she is. What a wonderful woman.

In geeky news, a few days ago I merged my guild with another small guild in the hopes to keep things alive and to keep the members that I have left. Although it’s only been a few days, things seem to be looking ok which I am happy about although I wish that I could have kept things together for L33tz0r. I have such a new and great appreciation for all of the work he puts into the guild in order to keep it functioning effectively and keep everyone happy.

I will be moving back to England in less than a week’s time and I hope that once I get settled back in I’ll be in a better state of mind and I’ll be back to posting pretty much every day :) I am very much looking forward to completing my Karazhan boss tactics and I have a few side blogging projects which are unrelated to this blog. I have made a 2nd money making blog using a different blog host as a sort of comparison to see where I make more money and which site gives me the best options. I’ll keep you posted :)
