I am pleased to announce that my new blog is up and running now and ready for your reading pleasures!! I’d like to ask everyone that might have me on their bookmarks to change over to the new address because after this point, it will be very rare for me to update this blog.

New and improved GirlieGeek!!

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these!! Glad I thought about it today … even though it’s after midnight!

1. The Misanthtropic: Name something about humanity you absolutely hate.

People who think that being reliable is not an important quality to possess. If you’re not going to do it, don’t tell me you will. If you say you’ll be there at 9am, don’t stroll in wondering what my problem is at lunch time. If you can’t make a promise, DON’T!

2. The Meretricious: Expose something or someone that’s phony, fraudulent or bogus.

I’ve got to agree with Fracas on this one, this whole splogging/ blog scraper thing is really getting to me and grinding my nerves. I’ve had one incident with it so far and as you might imagine, I’m not pleased. I’d actually go as far as saying that I feel slightly used and cheated.

3. The Malcontent: Name something you’re unhappy with.

There are people in this world who never have and never will work for a penny in their lives. Myself, and SO many others will work 40-50 hours a week on low pay and barely scrape by enough to pay the rent and get some groceries while there are some who live in luxury because of the work of others. How unfair is that?

4. The Meritorious: Give someone credit for something and name it if you can.

I give credit to all those people who slave away for next to nothing, and keep a smile on their face the whole time and not complain but enjoy the live they were given. There are some people who are always able to make the very best of what they have and are able to live beautiful and happy lives where some would complain and moan in the same situation.

5. The Mirror: See something good about yourself and name it.

I’ve always had a problem with admitting (and even seeing) when I am wrong or when I’m not acting very fair towards people. I am now constantly making a conscious effort to see things outside of my emotions. Stepping away from the situation for just one second before acting or speaking can make a huge difference in a relationship and I’m very proud of myself for taking the steps to make myself a better communicator.

6. The Make-Believe: Name something you wish for.

I wish that it was easier for me to hop on a plane and see my sister and the rest of my family. I miss them more than they’ll ever know and it’s very hard sometimes to be so far away.

I’d like to wish all of the wonderful people who stop by on occasion and read what I have to say a very Happy New Year! I hope that 2008 brings you peace, happiness, luck and everything that you want it to! Although 2007 had some great things happening, there were also some not so great things. So far, 2008 seems very promising and I am looking forward to a fresh new year which I hope will bring happiness, love, learning, and big things for this blog!

As part of the New Year theme, I have decided to make some changes in the blog … which I believe are for the better!! Today I registered with a webhost and got myself a domain name which will allow me to turn a corner with GirlieGeek and expand on what I’ve already got. I am extremely grateful to WordPress for their outstanding services and support which have been a joy to use. Once all is set up with regards to my new host, I will set up the new version of WordPress which will allow me more freedom and choice but will still provide me with the things I love so much about my existing WordPress blog. Hopefully the change over won’t prove too challenging for me and all will go off without a hitch!!

So in the coming weeks you can expect to see a new and sexier looking GirlieGeek, the completion of my Karazhan boss tactics page and some more goodies thrown in there! Although I do plan on monetizing the blog in some way, I promise that it will not compromise the integrity of the blog but will make me work harder for my money! Up to this point, GirlieGeek has been lacking in a clear focus of sorts and while I am still unsure where it’s focus should lie, I hope to improve upon the base that I’ve made and start a whole new ballgame!!

What the hell is a splog?! Yeah that’s what I was asking myself earlier when reading this post by Fracas. She explains it much better but in a nutshell a “splog” is a blog that takes content from the blogs of other people and uses it as content on it’s own. These people clearly aren’t clever enough to write their own posts so they resort to stealing work from other people and it’s NOT ok.

Please be aware that these splogs are out there and ensure that your content remains your own.

I’m a big fan of user made WoW videos so I decided to find some of my favorites and compile them into their very own blog making them easier to find and view.

I’ve got a job interview tomorrow for an actual big girl job!! Yikes!! I’m quite nervous and am not entirely sure what to expect so I’ve gone out and bought myself a nice new purple interview blouse and some nice new black interview shoes. I want to look professional, yet young and stylish. I thought the purple would be a good choice because if all of the other candidates are wearing black or white then I am likely to stand out.

Since I’m back to playing WoW again I think that I’ll continue on with my Karazhan Boss Tactics section. It seems to be a popular part of the blog so I’ll give the people what they want and eventually have the full boss list done.

I’ve got a few things going on at the moment. Looking for a new job because I am very tired of the one I’m currently in, wrapping up the boss tactics, blogging more regularly here, blogging more on a few other blogs, selling some things on Ebay … and the list goes on. I’m a busy little bunny but hopefully I’ll be able to find the time I need to get some much needed blogging done.

I’ve been nudging and hinting for months to L33tz0r that he should write some sort of blog. He’s been plugging away at the book he’s been writing and I think that he’s got enough creativity in him to spit out a little blog on the side too He has a lot of knowledge about tanking in World of Warcraft and a love for it that I don’t think is healthy or in any way sane.

So I’m pleased (and proud) to announce the birth of a new blog by none other than my L33tz0r!! Please hop on over to Bobrek’s Tank Spot and have a look at what he’s done so far. Keep in mind that this is a work in progress and he’s still got some planning and work to do on it.

I’ve made a start on the next boss tactic on the list: Maiden of Virtue. Not done yet but hey … I started haha!! I’ve only got a couple of days left here in Canada so I’ve got alot to do but I’m trying not to forget about my lovely readers

The up side to having trouble sleeping is that I get to watch alot of tv haha!! Lately it’s just been all of the random reality shows about those poor rich kids living in the southern states but tonight I was channel surfing and came across Larry King who had Tammy Faye on his show (I think it was a repeat from the other night). My goodness if it hadn’t said her name right there on the screen I might not have recognized her. I knew from my daily dose of Perez that Tammy Faye has cancer and has been very ill for a long time. I think that what I found most shocking was her incredible faith and trust in God. Makes me wish that I were more faithful than I am. While I do believe in God, I do not believe so much in organized religion. Anyway, before this turns into a post about my religious views, I’ll just say that I think Tammy Faye is such an incredible person and I hope that when my time comes I will be as graceful and as brave as she is. What a wonderful woman.

In geeky news, a few days ago I merged my guild with another small guild in the hopes to keep things alive and to keep the members that I have left. Although it’s only been a few days, things seem to be looking ok which I am happy about although I wish that I could have kept things together for L33tz0r. I have such a new and great appreciation for all of the work he puts into the guild in order to keep it functioning effectively and keep everyone happy.

I will be moving back to England in less than a week’s time and I hope that once I get settled back in I’ll be in a better state of mind and I’ll be back to posting pretty much every day I am very much looking forward to completing my Karazhan boss tactics and I have a few side blogging projects which are unrelated to this blog. I have made a 2nd money making blog using a different blog host as a sort of comparison to see where I make more money and which site gives me the best options. I’ll keep you posted
